In a disjointed couple of days of competition that featured a track repave and condensed schedule, L.A. Honda World Racing TC America Powered by Skip Barber TCX competitors Mario Biundo and Mike LaMarra hit the track on Saturday for qualifying and the first wheel-to-wheel action of the weekend. LaMarra, driving an Acura Integra Type S TCX machine #73 earned the teams’ best results with a lap time of 1:50.127 to slot in as the fourth-quickest driver of the session. Behind him, Biundo and his #7 Acura Integra turned the seventh fastest lap of the qualifying session with a time of 1:51.736.

It was LaMarra that once again led the team in the first wheel-to-wheel race of the weekend narrowly missing the podium and finishing fourth and a good start to his 2024 campaign. Biundo, who was having a good drive to keep his car clean, had a technical issue late in the race and was forced to the sidelines less than three minutes before the checkered flag would fly.

Back to the track Sunday, the L.A. Honda World Racing TC America Powered by Skip Barber TCX competitors Mario Biundo and Mike LaMarra were on track at 9:55am PDT for the second wheel-to-wheel combat of the weekend. LaMarra would start fourth in his Acura Integra Type S TCX machine with Biundo lining up seventh on the grid. LaMarra maintained his position at the start of the race, but Biundo fell to ninth early on. With just over thirty minutes remaining, LaMarra leveled up to the third position as the competitor currently ahead was called to the pit lane with an issue.

The field was frozen with the yellow flag flying with ten minutes remaining due to a fire in the car of another competitor as racing was halted. Unable to get the car cleared in time, the race would finish behind the safety car with Mike LaMarra able to celebrate on the podium with a third-place result.

Mario Biundo (#7 LA Honda World Racing Acura Integra Type S TCX) on the Integra Type S DE5: "Acura and Honda build some of the most fantastic cars. Starting out in TCA is a great classroom, but to make the jump to TCX to this Acura Integra has been a phenomenal experience for me. It's a greatly engineered car, probably one of the best from HRC. It's one they can really be proud of."

Mike LaMarra (#73 LA Honda World Racing Acura Integra Type S TCX) P3 race two: "It's very exciting. It's great to be up here for LA Honda World and HRC and Acura. The car is beautiful and it's fun to drive. We're happy to be here and it'll be fun to work on moving this car forward. We've learned a lot in the last couple of days of racing, and I think as we grow in our knowledge with the car it will be a really strong contender."

Next up for the TC America Powered by Skip Barber will be a trip to Austin, TX for the Circuit of the Americas installment of the series May 17th - 19th.
