Mike LaMarra Takes Fastest Lap in Test Sessions at TC America Sonoma

Sonoma, Calif. - Tommy McCarthy took the #27 Classic BMW M2 CS Cup to the top of the TC America Practice 1 timesheets with a 1:52.028 lap time set late in the season-opening session around sunny Sonoma Raceway. McCarthy’s Classic BMW teammate, Jacob Ruud, brought his #81 BMW home .199 seconds behind. Veteran TC America pilot Roy Block rounded out the top 3 in the TCX division with a 1:53.995 lap time in the #5 KMW Motorsports with TMR Engineering BMW M2 CS Cup machine.
Honda pilot Mike LaMarra led the TC field with a fastest time of 1:53.816 in the #37 LA Honda World Racing entry, just .087 seconds ahead of rival Toby Grahovec and the #26 Classic BMW M240iR. Eric Powell and the #92 Skip Barber Racing School Honda Civic Type-R would finish the session third of fifteen in class with a 1:54.040 best lap.
MINI JCW Team had both team drivers at the top of the TCA class with the #61 Mini Cooper of Mark Pombo and #62 entry of Clay Williams running 1:59.108 and 1:59.168 lap times respectively. The #99 VGMC Honda Civic Si of Jose Blanco was third quickest during the 30-minute session.
